Finally.... Here it is

I have been wanting to start a blog for so long. Why? Who can answer this, I don't know. However, my passion for all things luxe and related to simple pleasures always tend to take over. Let's start with the month of May.  I am quite honest, that Simon Does, Gougou Says! is purely a form of self-expression... it will cover things that I feel like discussing, at any given moment...

Back to the month of May...

Wow! I was blessed to meet Cleo Glyde, the newly instated Beauty Editor of VOGUE Australia. This glamorous amazon of a woman was the house model of Yves Saint Laurent for many years, and has stories to tell... An icon indeed. Paloma, whom you will all meet, was absolutely blown away. Imagine, my humble daughter being held by fashion royalty... I am still recovering.

Cleo won the crowd over, not only with her beauty... Her "presence" was captivating, and totally an experience... Charming, witty, warm and totally beautiful... it was an honour to be in the sheer space of this accomplished mannequin du maison...  The in-house model for Monsieur Saint-Laurent himself, I can still picture her in a classic (white) Grecian couture gown, waist enrobed in a swirl of gilt, that became a belt unlike any other... her flaming locks, statuesque form, and complete confidence - memorable on all accounts...

Cleo's writing is beyond a traditional editor....  Fusing humour and style, she paints a picture that imprints itself upon one's mind...  Channeling "bad gal" beauty, and turning the (Beauty) pages of VOGUE on their head, we have an icon in the making....

Her classic piece: A Drag Queen took my clothes... priceless!

Merely days later, Kirstie Clements the editor-in-chief is deposed from her throne at VOGUE. Waiting in the wings, Edwina McCann of Harper's Bazaar is ready to take over at the helm of the most touted, reverd and referred to of Fashion titles...

The times, they are a changin'.

I suppose my first post should relate to the trials and tribulations that await us in the modern day jungle. I ask you: do honest people exist? Are they out there?

There was I walking though the streets of Sydney last week, on my way to work. Clothes immaculately pressed. Fragranced with LancĂ´me's iconic Magie Noire, wheeling my suitcase to work. dressed in my new uniform of trench coat, PRADA glasses and Rouge In Love no. 322 (Corail in Love). Feeling fabulous as I was strutting to work, I felt a palpable sense of chic flowing through my veins. iPod plugged in, Lana Del Rey flooding my senses, as I conjured up strutting down the PRADA runway - I felt invincible.

Then, as though scripted as part of a Hollywood scenario, the proverbial, chilly, crisp wind blew. Lifting my beloved Louis Vuitton Challe monogram to the skies, it flew away... Imperceptibly, stealthily and sadly... As I walked, surrounded by crowds of pedestrians at evey step of my journey. My Challe lifted, fell to the ground and not one person stopped me, tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if it was my Challe or not...

This shows me that everyone secretly desires luxury and the identifiable hallmarks of chic. How can I have faith in a world where innocent textiles are abducted and tortured by those not deserving of them?Paloma was in tears, and needs to be comforted. Ah, the life of a parent, torturous at times.Stay tuned for photos that will tell you the story of my foray into FENDI, as I cried over spilt Vuitton.

The moral to the story: Miuccia, please sell your textiles in Australia... only the cognoscenti would ever know, and I would never need to tell Paloma what happened to her sister, Lola the Louis....

Side  by side, FENDI and PRADA trinkets glow with style....  Cleo Glyde holds my
beloved Paloma, at the recent VOGUE / Lancome event... what charm, elegance and
                sheer beauty....

the Wonderful Rachel from Lancome works her magic on Mishka Caesar, my beloved muse and fellow lover of miu miu and PRADA.

Until next time, au 'voir...
