I always love a hot, lean skinny waiter... MMMM.... However, a chef should have meat on their bones. Their job is to show you that they really believe in the value of their goods. Let's face it, Melbourne is the culinary epicentre of Australia. Gorgeous cafés; fabulous bars and great restaurants. What can I say?
Indeed. Imagine my delight when I visited Monk Bodhi Dharma on a long awaited (weekday) off... The most gorgeous barista instantly stopped me upon entry and asked if I was a makeup artist. I was enthralled by his assumption with regards to my career choice. Trainer / makeup artist... "same-same". He commented on my flawless skin, and wondered why I had such a glow. I blushed, and it wasn't from my Lancôme Blush Subtil Rose 30 compact...
I was awestruck by his genuine beauty and humble glow... Not to mention the most exquisite posture and glutes to match.Anyway, back to the topic. Not only was the organic coffee just so amazing. The company, the food (the grilled mushrooms were to die for)... The ambience was naturally chic. Sun dappled through the windows. The natural décor with its very New York feel was just worth savouring.

The chic interior of Monk Bodhi Dharma... or should I say Monk BODY Dharma? The Barista should be on the menu... a total feast for the eyes... a charming gentleman, and incredibly warm.
As the afternoon wore on, a most fortunate experience was to take place. A stunning, well-dressed young woman walked into the place. Mishka, Paloma, Putri and I were all blown away. This young vision of chic was carrying a bag that I simply had to ask about.The said bag was Carine, who was introduced to Paloma first, and then the rest of us. The young lady in question is somebody to watch. A young Australian handbag designer (although I see a lot more in the future)... Jacki Anderson.
This gifted young artisan is about to launch her label with her press launch taking place on the 28th of June. I cannot wait for this event, circled already on my calendar... Aside from my 40th, the highlight of my month.I will certainly become a loyal fan of this brilliant entrepreneur who is daring to create a Demi-couture experience right here in Melbourne....We all bonded, and were then mutually enamoured of each other's handbag collections. I am so proud that my beautiful Paloma behaved herself and allowed Carine to have her moment of glory. Such a gorgeous young lass that she is.All in all, life was best played without a script, as we bumped into a mutual friend of Mishka's... The charming and handsome Paul. He must look after you at C'n'F on Chapel Street, South Yarra - his flawless accent, warm eyes, and impeccable grooming -worth the tip!

A day that deserves to be celebrated.I will certainly be sharing the highlights of the launch with you all.Watch this space....Oh, somewhere along the line I possibly lost my train of thought.That's right... Never trust a skinny chef, unless you are dating him...
Another place worthy of note is the irreverently kitsch, utterly delicious and totally addictiveTruman in Albert Park. Camp paraphernalia collides with an innovative battalion of toy soldiers (I will let you discover this for yourself)... Brilliantly fresh food... The Wild Berry Smoothie; the mushrooms on toast ... And the coffee, superb!!!!The people watching is first class...who knew that there were so many hot men around... Don't start me on the whole "Silver Daddies" thing. Gorgeous men, women with bad handbags - (keep the work bags for work!) and lots of hubbub make Truman an unforgettable experience... Even the eggs, sorry "Connie's eggs" look delicious... And coming from me that says a lot!
